About Mesotherapy
What is Mesotherapy?
To deal with various problems of the skin such as dryness, loss of moisture, spots, thinning of the skin tissue, flaking, wrinkles and ageing, people generally prefer, because it is a very easy and quick method, to use various creams, vitamins and spot-lightening products externally by applying them to the surface of the skin. However, the proportion of creams and serums applied externally in this way that pass through the outer layer of the skin and reach the lower layers is very small, and therefore their effect is very little or none.
Mesotherapy is a method of drug administration and was first described in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor. The procedure of giving therapeutic agents directly into the skin with the help of very small, special syringes, instead of applying them to our skin from the outside, is called mesotherapy. In this respect, mesotherapy is in a sense a technique that allows agents which are held back by the permeability of the skin, and therefore cannot be sufficiently effective in the subcutaneous tissues, to pass into the skin or deeper.
Regenerative and rejuvenating drugs can be applied to the skin and the tissue beneath it, as can drugs that increase blood flow, cause an increase in subcutaneous connective tissue, remove spots and reduce skin pigmentation. With mesotherapy, which allows such a wide spectrum of drugs to be applied, it is possible to eliminate cellulite and to perform regional slimming treatments, treatment of scars and acne scars, treatment of stretch marks that occur during pregnancy, prevention of hair loss and facial rejuvenation treatments.
Although the duration of the procedure varies according to the area to be treated and the purpose, it generally takes between 15 and 45 minutes. Although the total number of sessions needs to be between 5 and 10 to achieve the desired effect, it should generally be assessed after 2-3 sessions whether the patient is benefiting before the sessions are continued. The intervals between sessions should generally be 1-2 weeks. The fees for the treatment vary according to the person performing it and the cost of the drugs applied.
Mesotherapy procedures are minimally invasive procedures. However, it is important which company produced the drug to be applied and under what conditions it was stored. In addition, just as one drug is not good for every disease, it is not possible for one mesotherapy product to be applied to all patients. The treatment to be applied must be decided by evaluating the patient's skin type and the needs of their skin as well as the patient's wishes. In addition, mesotherapy methods should not be applied to diabetic patients, people with heart failure or patients with kidney failure.
