About Fractional Laser Treatments

What is Fractional Laser Treatments?

Lasers are high-technology devices that emit light at a single wavelength. Because they emit light energy at only one wavelength, the light energy sent is absorbed by only one colour and releases the highest heat energy in the area where it is absorbed.

Following this logic, lasers are produced specifically for the purpose for which they will be used. All the lasers used for skin rejuvenation procedures are Er:YAG or carbon dioxide lasers, which emit beams with the highest absorption by water.

The right method for you is decided together after an examination.

The common feature of these lasers is that the beam sent is converted into heat energy right at the surface of the skin, without going to the deep tissues, and performs peeling or superficial ablation of the skin.

In addition to the wavelength of the laser used, there are many parameters that need to be adjusted, such as how much energy each shot of the beam will contain, how frequently beams will be sent per unit area, and the diameter of the beam sent.

With developing technology, these parameters can be adjusted to a high level. By making suitable settings, a superficial peel can be performed on the upper layers of the skin, making it possible to get rid of spots on the skin. Or, using the same laser system, a tightening effect can be created in the skin by stimulating connective tissue cells without causing damage to the skin. With lasers made to scan a certain area automatically (with the fractional feature), even though a deeper burning capability is used, the healing process is shortened because the burning is done leaving healthy tissue in between. Thanks to this, these lasers can now be used both for peeling the whole face and for reducing poorly healed scars. When made to fire continuously, it becomes possible to cut tissues with a very fine beam without allowing bleeding in the tissues.
